The exhibitions introduces the world of archaeology. Its aim is to familiarise with the work of an archaeologist both at an excavation site as well as in the museum, and above all to present the results of many years of archaeological surveys conducted in the city of Gdańsk.
A component of the exhibition is also connected to anthropology, where methods of reconstructing living conditions and the appearance of past citizens of Gdańsk can be seen, where we can find out what they ate, what illnesses they had and what they looked like.
Younger visitors will have the opportunity to play being an archaeologist and utilizing mini-excavation sites, the sandbox, where fragments of old pottery are hidden. The exhibition is summed up with a film about the work of Gdańsk’s archaeologists and multimedia presentations.
